5 of our 7 events are held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP/Mosport).

Costs at Calabogie are considerably higher. Shannonville can be less - but so is participation and entries.

A typical event at CTMP incurs the organizing club - expenses of $54,900 !

$17,515 - Track Rental
$ 5,073 - Ambulances
$ 6,071 - Food and beverage
$ 5.932 - Track entry fee/Programs
$ 1,785 - Radio rental
$ 2,825 - Insurance
$ 2,725 - Permit
$ 1,795 - Trophies
$ 4,564 - Purchased Services-Doctor,MMS,CTA,Towing etc
$ --805 - Worker gifts and Podium Supplies
$ 1,030 - Admin - Printing,Equipment replacement,office supplies ,fuel ETC
$ 2,000 - Allowance for indirect cost of running Club (Profit ?)

It will take an average of 118 entries per event - at the new - "FULL (2 day) PRE ENTRY FEE of $460" - to cover those costs.

Average entries for the 4 "club" events at CTMP in 2012 was 125 (but that includes several reduced entry fee registrations for 1 day entries or second drivers).

If you do the math, calculations and look at the big picture - fee increases have been unavoidable (and kept to a minimum).

One bad event - and the club takes a bath - which they can't afford.

We have had a number of past members trying to renew their memberships but are signing up under the new member section.  Please if you have been a past member sign up as a renewal membership (it makes life so much easier for you membership secretary.)

The winner of the 2012 Presidents Award was Ken Graham for his dedication and long standing membership to BARC.  Ken has now been a member of BARC for 50 yrs the longest standing member ever.  Ken took over working on our Facebook page and quickly became a success with a whole lot of people.  We are previlaged to have a member with so much history  thank you Kenny for all your years of hard work.

Ken was presented with the trophy at last nights General Member meeting by Past President Mike McDiarmid.

Three of our BARC Members were also award reconginition by CASC this year: 

ANGELA WARD received the Volunteer Award for Grids/Pits/Start.

TOM HYLAND received the Volunteer Award for Registration

BILL ROBB received the Volunteer Award for Stewards/Clerks.

MARLENE RASHLEIGH received the Volunteer Award for Auxilary Race Support  

TEAM CANADA -BRIAN GRAHAM received the Wayne Kelly Memorial 

          Trophy (awarded to the Ontario Regiona Club Member who has brought

          special recognition to Onario Motorsports)

At last nights banquet BARC also handed out some hardware:

High Performance Tuning Trophy - Highest scoring driver in the ontario Region - DYLAN GIBSON

Dulmage memorial Trophy - Highest scoring ice race Driver - JOHNATHAN RASHLEIGH

Willy Cleland Trophy - Driver demonstrating the enjoyment of racing - KIERAN MURPHY

Spinning Top - Most entertaining Award - SPENCER TODD

Bruce Bell Award - Choosen by the Grid Crew for the best prepared car in both -
